The development of retail offers for residential customers on the German fixed-line market 2017-2020

WIK research brief summarises the most important contents of the discussion paper No. 476 on the price development of double-play tariffs for private end-users at the largest German fixed network providers.

As part of a research project, WIK analysed the prices and products of the most important German broadband providers in the period from 2017 to 2020. The price development was differentiated according to providers, bandwidth classes and technology (xDSL, cable, FTTB/H). This research brief presents the most important results of the study in a condensed form. A more detailed presentation can be found in the Discussion Paper No. 476 "Analysis of the supply development for line-based broadband services for residential customers in the German fixed network market from 2017-2020".

The research brief as well as the Discussion Paper are available for download (in German langauage).
