Professor Bernd Sörries studied administrative sciences at the University of Konstanz and the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). He holds a doctorate from the University of Konstanz and is an honorary professor at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen. Professor Sörries worked at E-Plus Mobilfunk GmbH from 1998 to 2010. During these 12 years, he held management positions in the areas of corporate development, regulation and corporate affairs. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as managing director of the Research Centre for Mobile Broadband at the ITM of the University of Münster, which he established, and has continued to teach at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen since 2014. Here, in addition to business management issues, the focus was also on legal aspects of IT and telecommunications. In the Broadband Competence Centre NRW (BBCC.NRW), he worked intensively on broadband expansion in 2014-2015. In addition, he worked as a self-employed management consultant. Here he has carried out projects in the energy and telecommunications market. He is a member of the Committee for Information and Communication Technology of the DIHK. From 2009, he was the committee's chairman for a long time.
