On January 2008, the European Commission has published the results of the study "Comparison of Privacy and Trust Policies in the Area of Electronic Communications".
The project was a comparative assessment of privacy and trust arrangements in the United States, Japan, India, South Korea and Malaysia. The work was supported by extensive interviews and surveys of stakeholders in these systems.
We attempted to identify best practices, to assess strengths and weaknesses in comparison to Europe , and to make recommendations to the Commission.
WIK was supported in this project by RAND Europe and by research institutes of the University of Namur (CRID), the International University of Japan (GLOCOM), and Fordham University (CLIP).
