Sonja Thiele, a graduate economist, has been working as a research assistant in the 'Post, Logistics and Transport' department of WIK since January 2004. During her studies in Münster and Aix-en-Provençe, she focussed on the areas of "business cooperation" and "international economic relations". After graduating, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Cooperative Studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster on a research project on business cooperation.

In the course of her work for us, Ms Thiele gained experience in international and national projects. She dealt with market analyses, market structures and demand for postal services. A special focus of her work is in the area of price regulation. Ms Thiele has gained experience with different regulatory concepts and their practical implementation in studies for regulatory authorities in Europe and the USA. In doing so, she acquired expertise on specific issues of price regulation such as cost orientation or consideration of volume decline. Another focus of her work is on the demand side. Consumer protection issues and preferences as well as the drivers of mail volume development in the letter and postal market are essential aspects of her work.
