The meta-study addresses the topics of digitization in administrations, target groups of smart city applications and corona pandemic. In conclusion, the authors derive overarching conclusions and give an outlook on future research questions.
The overview reveals some particularly central questions: In order to be able to tackle the topics of mobility, digitalisation and the coronavirus well and efficiently, various prerequisites must be met. Many of the studies mention interoperable standards, good interface management and, above all, an overarching digitization strategy of a municipality. This requires joint reflection and networked action.
As employers, municipalities and companies are faced with the challenge of communicating that measures not only serve to increase efficiency and modernization, but also offer an opportunity for further development and job security. In the future, it would be desirable for even more studies to deal with the company's perspective. For smaller municipalities in particular, this raises the question of which measures can make them even more attractive for skilled workers in their own administration and for local business settlements. In addition, it is important to reconcile the perspectives of all stakeholders. For this purpose, a scientific survey of the expectations of the individual participants would be helpful.
