The Dutch regulatory authority ACM mandated WIK-Consult to analyse the network access technologies used in the dutch market in a time frame until 2025. There have been interviews with the most relevant operators in this regard.
WIK considered FTTC technologies up to XG.fast, the coax-network technologies up to DOCSIS 3.1 full duplex and the point-to-point FTTH architecture and its capabilities regarding high bandwidth transmission and its principle capabilities to support physical unbundling, alternatively virtual unbundling.
We estimated the possible impact on a hypothetical market entrance of a new fixed network operator and its profitability for all these access network infrastructures by cost models for the different architectures, using the established handover locations of the dutch market.
