A WIK report on the general productivity factor (so-called general X-factor) according to § 9 of the German Incentive Regulation Ordinance was published by the German Federal Network Agency on December 16, 2016. The general X-factor is an essential part of the incentive regulation of German electricity and gas network operators. The factor significantly influences future revenue opportunities of network operators. The general X-factor for the third regulatory period of German electricity (2019 - 2023) and gas (2018 – 2022) network operators will be determined by the German Federal Network Agency. The WIK report is the starting point of this process and will be consulted by interested stakeholders on January 16, 2017.
