BIPT presents postal market study by WIK-Consult, including recommendations for improving postal policy in Belgium
Since January 2011, the Belgian postal market has been fully opened to competition. WIK-Consult was commissioned by the independent regulator BIPT to review the situation after three years of postal liberalisation, assess the impact of liberalisation, and identify possible remaining barriers to competition in the Belgian postal market. Based on the economic analysis of the Belgian postal market during the 2011-2014 period as well as the analysis of the current regulatory framework, and comparing the Belgian results to those of other European countries, the report gives recommendations for improving legislation and regulation for the postal sector in Belgium.
The BIPT has published and presented the report to stakeholders on 3 March 2015 and the report is available for download.
