BIPT commissioned WIK-Consult to carry out a study presenting the current state of the Belgian e-commerce and delivery market and its developments since 2016. The study analyses market trends and concludes with recommendations for the stimulation of the Belgian online retail market, the postal aspects of e-commerce and the promotion of sustainability on the first and last mile. In addition, the study discusses the possible effects on the Belgian parcel market of the planned amendments to the Belgian Postal Act regulating working conditions in the parcel delivery sector.
